By using a mouthwash containing fluoride, this can help prevent tooth decay, but don’t use the mouthwash straight after brushing your teeth.
By using a mouthwash (even a fluoride one) straight after brushing your teeth it will wash away the concentrated fluoride in the toothpaste left on your teeth. Meaning your teeth will no longer be protected and plaque can build up in a shorter amount of time.
It’s best to choose a different time to use mouthwash such as after lunch. Also don’t eat or drink for at least 30 minutes after using a fluoride mouthwash.
