Redlands Gentle Dental Care has the solution
Have you noticed celebrities wearing braces now? Some wear traditional metal braces and somehow manage to still look good. While other celebrities have chosen to wear more subtle orthodontic options in order to straighten their smile without compromising their appearance. And their appearance, one might safely assume, does play a role in their business – not that celebrities are the only ones flocking to the Invisalign treatment. These clear aligners are and have been for some time, available to the public. As the technology has grown so too has the number of cases Invisalign has been able to treat: with Invisalign Teen, Lite and Full there are varying degrees of treatment depending on your individual orthodontic needs.
Why Invisalign could be the treatment for you
This treatment is tailored to your mouth. Your first appointment is when one of our friendly dentists will assess your oral health and determine if you are a suitable candidate for Invisalign. Roughly 70% of people with crooked teeth are suitable for Invisalign, however, there are some cases where you may require traditional orthodontics.
With Invisalign, scans will be taken and uploaded to a computer. With our Invisalign software, we will be able to show you how your teeth will look at the end of the treatment. The scans and impressions will be sent off to Invisalign HQ where your custom-made aligners will be made.
Invisalign slowly shifts your teeth back into place
When we receive your custom-made aligners we will provide you with the first six weeks’ worth of aligners. After each six week period, you will need to come back for the next lot.
Your compliance is required
One of the advantages of Invisalign is that the aligners are removable. This means there is no time spent where your teeth and cheeks are sore from getting used to the brackets and wires in your mouth—because there are none!
Being removable means you are able to eat and drink as normal: just be sure to brush and floss your teeth before you put your aligners back in.
Being removable also means it is up to you to ensure you wear your aligners for the prescribed amount of time. While this varies from patient to patient it is generally agreed you’ll need to wear your aligners for at least 20 hours a day. Your Redlands Gentle Dental Care dentist will inform you of how long you will need to wear your aligners.
To not comply is to waste money
If you don’t wear your aligners for the prescribed amount of time one of two things can happen:
- The treatment is not as effective as it should have been.
- The treatment takes longer than initially anticipated.
Why Invisalign is a great way to straighten your teeth
Invisalign is the obvious choice for a number of reasons:
- You don’t have to go on a soft-food diet
- No one will notice you’re getting orthodontic treatment
- At the end of the treatment, you’ll have straight teeth.
Straight teeth are easier to brush and floss than crooked teeth. Additionally, if you were to choose Invisalign for your orthodontic treatment it would mean fewer treatment concerns and maintenance because you won’t have to worry about brackets and wires.
